Blokker van Blokweerse mill is one of the nineteen Kinderdijk mills. In contrast to the other eighteen, this mill is just not on the territory of the village of Kinderdijk, which is the municipality of Molenwaard, but in the neighboring town of Alblasserdam. The mill is also known as the Blokkkerse Wip, because it is a wipmill. On the site of the Blokker was a mill in the Middle Ages. This antique mill was set on fire by Spanish troops during the Dutch uprising. The current mill dates back to the beginning of the seventeenth century. The last restoration took place in 2001, after the mill was partly burnt down on 27 July 1997. The mill is after all to drain the Blokweerse part of the Alblasserwaard. De Blokker is built on brick-based meat screens. The flight is 26.9 meters and the paddle wheel has a diameter of 5.7 meters. The grinder has an outside dipper for operating the catch brake. Owner is the World Heritage Foundation Kinderdijk.
