Black Tor rises above the car parking area at Shipley Bridge. The rocky outcrops are situated at the southern end of what we call the Avon Dam Reservoir Valley. The views up that valley to the dam and reservoir from Black Tor are wonderful. We& x27;ve positioned Black Tor on Google maps. Zoom in on the & x27;Satellite& x27; setting to see its location. To enjoy the views from its outcrops, head for Shipley Bridge. Leave the car parking area and follow the tarmac road up the valley. It runs along the side of the River Avon. Just before you come to the bridge that spans the river, you& x27;ll see a path on your left that takes you up to Black Tor. Alternative routes include following the first section of the Zeal Tor Tramway & x28;Dismantled& x29; before looping back round to Black Tor. It& x27;s also great fun to take it in as part of a large, circular walk around Avon Dam Reservoir.
