A detailed, top-down view of a black house spider (Badumna insignis) is presented against a transparent background. The spider has a dark, somewhat flattened body with a mottled pattern of black and dark brown. Eight long, slender legs extend outwards from its cephalothorax, each covered in fine hairs. The pedipalps are smaller leg-like appendages near the front of its body. The spider has eight eyes arranged in two rows on its head, though they are not all distinctly visible at this magnification. The overall appearance is of a robust, dark-colored spider commonly found in and around human dwellings.
