Geum urbanum, or wood avens, has various uses, including flavoring food and drinks with its clove-like roots, as an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic herb in traditional medicine for stomach issues, mouth conditions, and fevers, and even as a moth and flea repellent. The young leaves can also be eaten like spinach.
