Built in 1822 was the work of Jeffry Wyatsville. The ballroom was added in 1830 designed by Plymouth architect John Foulston. Tavistock is an ancient statuary and market town in West Devon. It is situated on the river Tavy which is where it gets it name from. It is the only Town in Devon to hold world heritage status
