Coal Tit Periparus ater. It is a small black-capped tit of woodlands. It is the smallest tit in Europe. They build their nests in low walls or tree holes, using various feathers, twigs and chippings. In literature, nests built on the ground can also be found. Like all tit species, it is an extremely energetic and active bird. It shows similar behaviors to other members of the tit family with its acrobatic movements such as hanging upside down in trees, especially while feeding. It has a smooth ringing, fast rhythmic and clear song.
