The Bayon is a richly decorated Khmer temple at Angkor in Cambodia. Built in the late 12th or early 13th century. Known for many huge faces said to be of Jayavarman VII. The last great temple to be built at the site it is more a Mahayana Buddhist shrine dedicated to the Buddha than the earlier Hindu shrines. |
