The smallest national cemetery administered by the Nationl Park Service, located in the 6800 block of Georgia Avenue Northwest in the historic Brightwood community. The remains of 40 union soldiers are interred here, who died at Fort Stevens defending the US capitol against an assault by Confederate forces on July 12, 1864.
