| Traunsee is a beautiful lake in Salzkammergut, Upper Austria, Austria. At the North end of the lake is Gmunden, at the south end is Ebensee town. The lake is surrounded by mountains, including the Traunstein, and a number of other towns and villages surround the lake, including Altmunster and Traunkirchen. Traunstein is the highest mountain on the east side of Lake Traunsee. It is in the district of Gmunden, Austria. The Traunstein is 1691 metres high. The height is the reason why it can be seen from very far away. |
