Basom Tso Lake, also known as Cuogao Lake, meaning "green water" in Tibetan, is one of the largest glacial freshwater barrier lakes in eastern Tibet. It is located in the high and deep valley in the upper reaches of the Bahe River in Gongbujiangda County, Nyingchi City, Xizang Autonomous Region, between 29 ° 59 ? -30 ° 04 ? N and 93 ° 53 ? 14 ? -94 ° 01 ? E. The surface of Basongcuo Lake is about 27 square kilometers. The lake has an elevation of about 3490 meters and a catchment area of 1209.5 square kilometers.
