The Barrels Huts at the 12,300ââ¬Â² level on Elbrus, a volcano in Russia, and the highest point of Europe also one of the Seven Summits.They are large steel drums, about 30ââ¬â¢ long and 10ââ¬â¢ in diameter tipped on their sides with doors and windows cut out and beds and little room dividers built in. There are 9 main barrels, each sleeping 6 people. There is a mattress and pillow in each barrel, a small entry room (great for storing crampons, ice axes, trekking poles). Each hut has an electric heater, electric plugs, and an electric lights.
