| Fortress Kastel is located in Banja Luka and represents the oldest historical monument in this town. It was built on the left bank of the Vrbas, between today`s City Bridge and the mouth of the River Crkvena. In the past, KaÃ
¡tel was a very strong military fortress and protected the Vrbas valley from enemy stunts, primarily from the north. The fortress is surrounded by thick stone walls on all sides, where loopholes and observatories have been erected. |
