Ballarat, Victoria`s largest inland city. Just west of Melbourne, Ballarat is a melting pot of art, culture, food, wine. The city cinema is the Regent Multiplex and opened by the Hoyts Theatres chain on 7th April 1928. Seating was provided for 1,953 in stalls and balcony levels. Originally designed in a Classical style by theatre architect Cedric Heise Ballantyne. It was rebuilt in 1943 after a fire.
