The twenty thousand blue and white hand painted tiles known as Azulejos are inlaid on the wall. This colored painted tile called AZULEJOS has a tradition of more than 500 years in Portugal. It originated from Arab, and was later promoted by Portuguese to form a special Portuguese architectural style.
