The Amsterdam ferry services operated by the GVB provide six ferry services across the IJ. There are three that have their starting point at the De Ruijterkade north of the Central Station two that sail back and forth further to the west from the Houthavens and one that sails further east from the Azartplein. . All six are free for pedestrians cyclists moped riders scooters and disabled vehicles. There are also three ferry connections across the North Sea Canal that are accessible to cars but are not free for them.
