Eiheiji Tokyo Betsuin of the Soto sect of Buddhism, located in Nishiazabu 2-chome, Minato-ku, Tokyo. The Kannon Hall is dedicated to the eleven-faced Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, known as the Azabu Great Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.Since the distant past, there has been an udo dedicated to a statue of the Kannon (Goddess of Mercy), which is said to have been made of the same wood as that used in Hase-ji Temple in Nara. When Shigemasa Yamaguchi was invited by Ieyasu Tokugawa to Edo in 1591, he received a villa in Shibuyagahara, and in 1598, he built Hasedera Temple based on this Shibuyagahara Kannon Hall.
