Olhão is a municipality in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. Located near the regional capital Faro, it is an important fishing port. Several small-scale and industrial fishing fleets have its base in Olhão’s harbour. The picture shows creels locally called “covos” used to catch cuttlefish, octopus and conger.
