The Lotus Temple in Yangbaoshan Scenic Area of Guiding County, Guizhou was built by Master Baiyun, the Revival Master of Yangbaoshan, in the 18th year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty. From the Ming to the Qing Dynasties, it was one of the three major Buddhist mountains in southwestern China, on par with Mount Emei in Sichuan and Jizu Mountain in Yunnan. The temple is built against the mountain, with distinct levels.
