Stone walls are a kind of masonry construction that has been used for thousands of years. Located in a wonderful natural setting, at the foot of Pietrosul peak in the Rodna Mountains, the Monastery dedicated to `Beheading of St. John the Baptist` is both a place of worship and prayer for believers and pilgrims, but also a spiritual stop for tourists passing through the area. Pietroasa Monastery is a monastic ensemble built mostly of wood, keeping specifically constructions from Maramureș where the 13 nuns and the priest of the monastery serve. The access road starts from the center of Borșa city on an asphalt road, quite narrow and steep. Borsa, Maramures County, Romania, Europe.
