The earliest records of the church at Sant' Appiano date back to the 10th century, situated in the area around Barberino Val d'Elsa in Italy. The church is built in early Romanesque times. The existence of Sant' Appiano can be traced starting from the Etruscan-Roman period at the place of the remains of the cruciform pillars of the baptistry.
