Juneteenth is the annual celebration of the abolishment of slavery in America in January 1863, but since Texas did not officially abolish it until the Union solders got there, on 19 June 1865, that date has become the official Independence Day for the Black Americans, with the date of June 19th being contracted to Juneteenth. Although this date has been celebrated in San Francisco since at least 1945, it did not become an official national holiday until 2021. This years parade, held on 22 June 2025, like all others, kicks off with the San Francisco Motorcycle Police, followed by a lot of families classic cars and some floats. It was a very joyous day for everyone.
