Dieffenbachia seguine Jacq. Schott, known by the common names of me-nobody-can [2] and aningapara [2], is a plant of the Araceae family, much appreciated as an indoor ornamental, given its tolerance to low ambient light and low relative humidity. It produces large variegated leaves, with various shades of green and yellow, glossy and long lasting, which makes it very interesting in interior decoration. In some regions of the world, its popularity as a domestic plant is increased due to the fame that the plant has for `chasing away the evil eye and evil spirits` [1].
