With an area of nearly 13 hectares, xidi village has a history of more than 950 years, including 3 ancestral halls, 1 archway and 224 ancient dwellings from the 14th century to the 19th century. Xidi village is still well preserved in the typical style of the Ming and qing dynasties ancient village, known as the `living museum of ancient dwellings`. Hongcun was built in 1131 AD, existing Ming and qing architectural 137 buildings. [1] it is the carrier of huizhou culture, a typical representative of the culture in the late feudal society of China, and embodies the characteristics of huizhou folk houses with exquisite craftsmanship.
