Vietnamese-American actor Alan Trong greets fans following a matinee performance in Amy Herzog's adaptation of Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People which was first staged in 1882. Despite it's latter 19th century origins, the work has great relevance for the present day. The water in the image refers to research conducted by medical doctor Thomas Stockman which shows that a local spa is making people gravely ill because its polluted waters carry deadly bacteria. But the town rejects him and claims his research will damage severely its economy if their spa is closed. Trong had a significant role, the character Sonny, in HBOs 2024 series The Sympathizer. The play closed on June 23, 2024, but not before Strong garnered a Best Actor in a Play Tony Award. Strong is depicted under water in the poster in rear, outside the Circle in the Square Theatre on 50th Street and Broadway.
