| Not surprisingly, small boats line the harbor of the seaside town and small port of Akko, Israel. In the background is the mineret of the Al-Jazaar Mosque, sometimes referred to by locals as `the green mosque.` It dates from the mid 18th century and is in the Turkish architectural tradition. Akko, also called Acre, is a city of mixed Arab and Jewish inhabitants. |
