The Heart of Chechnya Mosque is one of the largest mosques in the world. It was opened on October 17, 2008 and named after Akhmat-Hadji Kadyrov. The mosque is located on the picturesque bank of the Sunzha River, in the middle of a huge park and is part of the Islamic Complex, which, in addition to the mosque, includes the Russian Islamic University. Kunta-Hadji and the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of Chechnya. The mosque is built in the classical Ottoman style. The central hall of the mosque is covered with a huge dome diameter-16 m, height-32 m. The height of the four minarets is 63 meters each — one of the highest minarets in the South of Russia. The exterior and interior walls of the mosque are decorated with travertine marble, and the interior is decorated with white marble. The area of the mosque is 5000 square meters, and the capacity is more than 10 thousand people. The same number of believers can pray in the summer gallery and square adjacent to the mosque.
