| Abel Lake or what local people often call Lake Air Besar is located between Ngilngof and Namar villages, Manyeu District, Southeast Maluku Regency, Maluku Province, 25 minutes from Langgur City, the district capital. The word ABELL means drowning person. Because the village sank into a lake, the lake was named Lake Abel. Despite its history, to this day local people use the water sources from this lake for their daily needs, as well as for gardening, not only the water from this lake is managed but the sago trees that grow around this lake. Apart from that, in this lake there are lots of tilapia fish, so many people fish in this lake. |
