The city was founded on a hill that is strategically located, and the control of the entire Dardanelles, and thus the Bosphorus today the Turkish Sea of Canakkale was guaranteed. In that way, Troy found itself in a location that guaranteed the great prosperity of trade, and thus the great wealth of its inhabitants, but also a large number of enemies, who, as the course of history will show later, will conquer Troy several times… The famous kidnapping of the beautiful Jelena, the daughter of the Spartan king Menelaus, by the Trojan prince Paris, ignited hatred between the Achaeans and the Trojans, or at least the legend says so. Unable to break through the defensive walls of Troy, after a couple of years of war, the Achaeans decided to invade the city with a trick - the famous Trojan horse, which the Trojans, not suspecting fraud, accept as a gift from the gods.
