The Charterhouse of Padula is a Charterhouse located in Padula, in the province of Salerno. This is the first Charterhouse to be born in Campania. Occupying an area of 51,500 mò, counting on three cloisters, a garden, a courtyard and a church, it is one of the most sumptuous baroque monumental complexes in southern Italy as well as the largest certosa in Italy and among the largest in Europe. Since 1957 it houses the provincial archaeological museum of western Lucania and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998.
