| Located in National Historic Poole Forge, a colonial Revolutionary War era iron forge in Narvon, Pennsylvania USA. The park features an 1859 Red Covered Bridge over the Conestoga River, Caernarvon Township. The President in the year 1859 was James Buchanan. He was the 15th President of the United States. The bridge has a single span, wooden, double Burr arch trusses design with the addition of steel hanger rods. It is painted entirely red, the traditional color of Lancaster County covered bridges on the outside. The inside of the bridge is not painted. Both approaches to the bridge are painted in red |
