Bangladesh, capital, city Dhaka: The leather industry is a major industry and source of income for the people in the slum Islambag in the district of Lalbagh. This man and boy, father and son, have gathered scraps of leather from the leather factory. They lay the pieces of leather to dry on the sloping levee of the Buriganga river. Against the embankment are the shacks in which these poor people live in deplorable housing and living conditions.
