The Palau de la Musica Catalana is an architectural jewel of Catalan Modernisme Art Nouveau, listed asàWorld Heritage Site byàUNESCO in 1997. It was built between 1905 and 1908 by the modernist architectàLluis Domènech i Montaner as a home for theàOrfeo Catala, a local choral society. From the vestibule, two grand marble staircases bring the visitors to the first and second floor. The marble balustrades are supported by unusual transparent yellow glass balusters. |
