In the northern section of the Park Preserve, Six Mile Creek meanders through an extensive open wetland complex where there is intermittent beaver activity. A beautiful, curved beaver dam reflects early spring weather above. Hammond Hill State Forest is 3,697 acres and is a popular area for any season recreation. The 20-mile multiple-use trail system has been designed to offer family-based recreation for hiking, mountain biking, dog walking, horseback riding, and cross-county skiing.
