Pictured is a relief on the right upper facade of the Migdol Gate entrance to the Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III in Medina Habu. Ramesses is smiting his enemies with help from the falcon-headed god Horus. Ramesses III modeled the Migdol Gate on the gatehouses of Syrian fortresses he had seen during his Syrian war campaigns. The second pharoah of the 20th dynasty, Ramesses III is considered the last great pharoah of Egypt and his mortuary temple is covered with reliefs of his conquests.
