Pictured is a public art mural displaying the town`s namesake, Colonel Sydney Sherman. The mural is painted on the side of Old Iron Post in historic downtown Sherman, Texas. Sherman was a key leader in the Texas Revolution and is most known for commanding troops at the Battle of San Jacinto.
He is also credited with the rallying cry of ââ¬ÅRemember the Alamo.ââ¬Â The city of Sherman was named after him when Texas became a state in 1846. No artist is identified. |
