The peculiar structure of the town of Comacchio, situated in the Po River Delta in the north of Italy, deeply affected by its unique location among the waters, was shaped by the new political regime of 1598. In the Via Agatopisto you can admire the beautiful neo-classical façade of the 1770 San Camillo Hospital. The palace, designed as a hospital for the poor, reminds of a Greek temple, with Ionic columns and two slender towers on either side. |
