| Pattadakal Temple Complex, also called Pattadakallu or Raktapura, a UNESCO World Heritage site is a complex of numerous small shrines, plinths and ten major temples - nine Hindu and one Jain, all nine Hindu temples are dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Pattadakal monuments reflect a fusion of two major Indian architectural styles, one from north India which is Rekha - Nagara - Prasada and the other from south India which is Dravida - Vimana, this complex is built in the 7th and 8th century CE, located on the west bank of the Malaprabha River in Bagalakot, Karnataka, India. |
