Boggsville was a small community started in 1862 just off the Santa Fe Trail. Settled along the confluence of the Arkansas and Purgatoire Rivers, it was not far from Bent`s Old Fort. In fact the founder of Boggsville was William Bent`s son-in-law, Thomas Boggs.
