| The Anisoptera (Anisoptera, from the Greek ?????? anisos 'unequal' and ?????? pterón 'wing') are one of the two classical infraorders of the suborder Epiprocta. They are commonly known as dragonflies (damselfly in the Dominican Republic, aguacil in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, lice killer in Chile and Colombia, chapulete and clipper in Ecuador, folelé in the Canary Islands, caballete in Mexico), although this term is often used also in a broader sense to designate all odonates. |
