The Willet, Tringa semipalmata, is just one type of sandpiper found in North and Central America, found along the shoreline. As the different types have different length and size beaks, they dig through the sand for different foods, so there is no competition between them, so they can search side by side. The Willet is one of the largest of the sandpipers. As seen along the Carpinteria Beach 16 August 2022.
