The water pipit or rock pipit scientific name: Anthus spinoletta is a bird of the passerine wagtail family. It is a small songbird with a body length of about 17 cm, a wingspan of 23 to 28 cm, and a life span of 9 years. It is a pipit with grayish body feathers and vertical stripes. The upper body is olive green with brown vertical stripes, especially on the head. Eyebrow lines are milky white or brownish yellow, and there is a white spot behind the ear. The lower body is off-white, with dark brown vertical stripes on the chest. When resting in the wild, the tail often swings up and down. The outer tail feathers are white, the legs are slender, and the hind toes have long claws, suitable for walking on the ground. It mainly inhabits mountains, forest margins, bushes, grasslands, and river valleys.
