Many tourists are visiting the Roman Forum in the Italian capital of Rome. At the background the City Hall and one of the statues of the National Monument to Victor Emmanuel II or Il Vittoriano. At the right the white marble Arch of Septimius Severus or Arco di Settimio Severo at the northwest end of the Forum, a triumphal arch dedicated in AD 203 to commemorate the Parthian victories of Emperor Septimius Severus and his two sons in the two campaigns against the Parthians of 194/195 and 197-199.
