A nerve belongs to the nervous system, carrying electrical signals to the brain from the sensory organs, and from the brain to the muscles, in order to respond to stimuli from the external or internal medium. Veins and arteries belong to the circulatory system. Their function is to carry blood around the body. In the blood there are many substances and different cells, such as white blood cells (whose function is to protect the organism from illness, infection, etc) and red blood cells, which carry oxygen around the body from the lungs to the various organs and carbon dioxide from the organs to the lungs.
