The valley of Glendalough in Wicklow Mountains, Ireland is very popular and beautiful. Here you find the ruins of an old church and cemetery. Monastic City Glendalough is home to one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland. This early Christian monastic settlement was founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century and from this developed the âMonastic Cityâ. The âCityâ consists of a number of monastic remains, and the most impressive being the Round Tower which stands 30m high. There is a beautiful and strenous hike with many inclines but with many rewards in terms of panoramas and unique vistas around the nearby Glendalough Lake. Photo taken on a nice day with lots of sunshine. Wicklow Mountains National Park stretches across almost 23,000 hectares south of Dublin and is the largest of Irelandâs National Parks.
