| Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument is located in southern Utah. This picture was taken in the area called The Toadstools, part of the Paria Rimrocks, an amazing collection of hoodoos, badlands, and other bizarre rock formations. The area is located between the Cockscomb Fault and the southern section of Cottonwood Canyon Road just north of US 89. A toadstool hoodoo and the white cliffs in the background represent two stairs of the Escalante Staircase. |
