Tsaritsyn landscape Park was founded in 1775. Almost immediately after Catherine II bought the Kantemirovskaya estate, larch trees and Siberian cedars were planted in the Park, which were sent as a gift to the Empress by the mining farmer Prokop Demidov larch trees still grow in the Park, but these are renewed plantings of the mid-XIX century. Vasily Bazhenov was engaged in the Park`s development throughout his leadership of Tsaritsyn construction. The pavilions and gazebos that have survived to this day were later created by the architect Ivan Yegotov.
