Trajan's Market, known in Latin as Mercatus Traiani and in Italian as Mercati di Traiano, is an extensive complex of ruins situated in Rome, Italy, along the Via dei Fori Imperiali, at the far end from the Colosseum. The remaining edifices and constructions, which were originally part of Trajan's Forum and are set against the dug-out side of the Quirinal Hill, offer a vivid representation of life in ancient Rome and provide a window into the city's restoration efforts that continue to uncover new wonders and knowledge of ancient Roman architecture.
