Known as 'oulha-de-onça' (jaguar ear) due to the hairy appearance of its leaves, this is another plant of the genus Tibouchina, typical of the flora of Brazil and widely used in landscaping and ornamentation. In the south of the country it is also known as 'orelha-de-urso' (bear ear). In English, the plant is called silver leafed princess flower, large leaved princess flower or glory flower. This plant is native to the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest biomes, found naturally in almost all states in the Northeast, Southeast and Goiás regions. It can be found in various types of vegetation (clear field, rocky field, rain forest, among others), growing on the ground or even on rocks.
