The Teide is a volcano located on the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). With an altitude of 3718 meters above sea level and 7500 feet above the ocean floor, is the highest peak in Spain, of any landmass from the Atlantic Ocean and the third largest volcano on Earth from its base on the ocean floor after Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, both on the island of Hawaii. The altitude of the Teide also makes the island of Tenerife in the tenth highest island worldwide. |
