| The late longtime mayor of Jerusalem, Teddy Kollek, meets with a royal visitor, Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, of Thailand. Diplomacy was conducted on the visit with Israel interested in expanding trade and cooperation with Southeast Asia and Thailand interested in Israeli military/security expertise as well as agriculture and water projects. The Thai's father, King died after a 70-year period as king on October 13, 2016. The young potential monarch, born in 1952, is thrice divorced with a reputation as a gambler and playboy. He is a trained military jet and helicopter pilot. The meeting took place in Jerusalem in December, 1989. |
